We’re pleased to announce that Multistory has teamed up with tekkinpix, on Wednesbury Through The Lens – a new photography competition for the town. Open to everyone, of all ages it encourages people to take a closer look at Wednesbury High Street and the surrounding area.

Wednesbury Through The Lens is inviting photographs that you’ve taken of your favourite people, places, food, building – anything that you think makes Wednesbury unique and interesting.  No prior photography experience is necessary and you can use your camera phones or digital and film cameras. 

A selection of photographs will be exhibited in Wednesbury and there are prizes to be won for the three winners who will be platformed on the Instagram of tekkinpix.

This competition is part of the Wednesbury High Street Heritage Action Zone Cultural Programme which is funded by Sandwell Council and Historic England and is being delivered by Multistory.

tekkinpix is a showcase for photography in the Black Country and Birmingham that encourages people to share images of the region and has a particular focus on the urban landscape and portraiture.

1) What size should my image be?
If possible please send High Res Jpeg files. For large files please you can submit via a WeTransfer link. If you are sending from your phone, be sure to select the ‘actual size’ of the image so it doesn’t reduce in size when you send via email. 

2) What should I photograph?
Images should be of Wednesbury and the surrounding area. Other than that, the subject matter is your choice – you can photograph your favourite people, places, food, building – anything that you think makes Wednesbury unique and interesting.

3) Is this competition for Wednesbury residents only?
No, it’s open to everyone.

4) How many images can I submit?
A maximum of three images can be submitted per person.
