As part of the We Are Wednesbury programme, Multistory worked with photographer, Marta Kochanek, to capture the portraits and stories of business and shop owners in Wednesbury. Located in Wednesbury Museum and Art Gallery, this exhibition displays these captured moments.
The conversations Marta had with local people brought out the opportunity to talk about best memories, challenges and hopes for the future. The image captions are taken from those conversations and you can read them in full in the accompanying interviews booklet.
Alongside the contemporary photographs, the exhibition features historic images of the high street showing how the town has changed over the years. There is also a reading corner and some activities to get involved with, including a quiz where you have the chance to win a jar of Teddy Gray’s Herbal Tablets!
