Wildlife Wonders: a free, guided wildlife walk

Come and join us on Saturday 3 August for a free, guided wildlife walk hosted by Multistory and the Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust (BBCWT) in West Bromwich town centre.

The walk will take place from Little Dessert Shop on West Bromwich High Street, next to the Farley Memorial Fountain. It will be a circular route, passing through meadows near West Bromwich High Street and Dartmouth Park. The walk will be 1 hour long (1.1 miles) and will be gently paced. (See below for directions and access information). This event is suitable for all ages; families and young people are welcome, and we ask that children aged under 16 attend with a guardian.

What is happening?

The wildlife walk will be led by Jane Grove, Senior Centre of the Earth Development Officer at BBCWT. During the walk, Jane will discuss what birds and animals live in our local community, what to plant to encourage wildlife and what you can do to manage, protect and enhance your own green spaces (gardens, balconies, window boxes, parks etc). There will be opportunities to stop and look at plants / habitats of interest and ask questions. Participants are encouraged to draw, observe, record, talk about, or simply enjoy what’s around them.

The main focus of this guided walk will be to get people outside and observe the urban green spaces around West Bromwich in a new way. We hope to see you there!

As this event takes place outdoors, please wear suitable clothing and comfortable shoes or trainers. Please bring sun cream / a waterproof coat / umbrella (depending on weather!), a bottle of water and anything else you may need.
