Multistory is excited to share details forthe We Are Wednesbury Community Lantern Procession taking place on Saturday 30 November 2024 as part of the town's Christmas Lights Switch-on celebrations. We are once again delighted to collaborate with Bostin' Arts who are working with local community groups to make the lanterns; we can’t wait for you to see what’s in store! This year we are focusing on the themes of togetherness and community and there’ll be a lantern performance telling a short story about a dog walker, a gardener and a dog!!
Sandwell Council’s Christmas Lights event will be taking place at the Wednesbury clocktower from 1pm-6pm with family-friendly entertainment, music and stalls and our Procession will start at 5.40pm around Market Place with fantastic LED stilt-walkers and the amazing Bostin Brass band, followed by the storytelling lantern performance in front of the stage until around 6:00pm, when we’ll then join the people of Wednesbury for the Christmas lights switch-on at 6.15pm to illuminate the town.

We would like to thank Bostin' Arts, Bostin Brass, Helter Skelter, the community groups (Kickstart Dance, Crafternoon, Way 2 Wellbeing, 617 Air Scouts, 3rd Wednesbury Rainbows and Brownies) for their involvement in the Procession this year, as well as Sandwell Council and Arts Council England who fund Multistory to deliver our projects, events and activities.
