Join us for the We are Wednesbury Winter Lantern Procession / Saturday 26 November, 2022
This year we are lighting up Wednesbury with an outdoor lantern procession! Community groups from across Wednesbury have been gathering to design and make their own lanterns that celebrate stories of the high street. They will join together for a large procession as part of Sandwell Council’s Wednesbury Christmas Light Switch On and Bostin’ Brass Band and LED Stilt Walkers from Helter Skelter will lead them through the streets. You can also join the lantern-making workshop on the day and be part of the procession. We can't wait! Timetable below.
Grand opening / 1pm at Market Place.
Street performance and stage acts / 1 to 3.30pm at Market Place and Union Street.
Lantern-making workshop / 1.30 to 3.30 pm at Market Place.
We are Wednesbury Lantern Procession / 3.30 to 4.30pm.
Christmas Lights switch-on / 4.30pm at Market Place.
