We are delighted to announce the return of Wednesbury Day, following the success of last year!
Join us on Saturday 22 June from 10am-2pm for a free Wednesbury Day community festival that celebrates the town! There will be a variety of free, family-friendly activities to get involved with including table-top planting, face painting and nature-themed creativity.
Occupying market stalls around Market Place and the top of Union Street, local community groups, organisations and service providers will be promoting their work and offerings including the Crafternoon group, Leisurely Pedal, Ideal for All, South Staffs Water Hub and many more.
We will also be joined by the Police and Fire Service who will be bringing some of their vehicles, as well as the Mobile Library; all will be located at the bottom of Union Street (near the Old Market area).
As well as celebrating what Wednesbury has to offer, we have collaborated with Black Country Touring to present two entertaining street acts: The Comedy Cavemen and Woolly Wonder and The Wrong Brothers who will be bringing laughter and joy to the town centre throughout the day.
There will also be a puppet performance Laika the Space Dog taking place at Wednesbury Library on the day, courtesy of BCT; an exciting puppet performance telling a different ending to the dog who went into space. Places are free, but you will need to reserve a space; showings will take place at 10.30am and 12.30pm. For more information and to book a space follow the selected time links below:
