The three winners chosen by our judging panel of local women will have their portrait painted by Sarah. The nomination form can be filled in on our website following or picked up from local Sandwell libraries. We’re delighted to be working with artist @sarahtaylorsilverwood on a new commission for 18/19. Sarah is launching an award to celebrate women. The award will focus on honouring the many important and varied roles that women play, and will culminate in a new series of portraits by Sarah of the award winners. The women will be nominated by people in #Sandwell and portraits will be shared in community centres and libraries across the borough. . . Sarah Taylor Silverwood is a visual artist with a practice rooted in drawing and language, used as material to produce print, animations and installation works. She often pulls together narratives through collaboration, a specific site, or a curatorial framework. She enjoys working with people, whether with other artists, or by inviting participation in the work.
