Take part in a lantern parade!

Posted

This year we are lighting up Wednesbury with a lantern procession! Community groups from across Wednesbury have been gathering this Autumn to design and make their own lanterns that celebrate stories of the High Street. They will join together for a large procession as part of the Christmas Light Switch on 26 November 2022, 1 to 5pm.

You can also take part, celebrating Wednesbury in a magical way. It's a chance for the whole family to get festive! There will be a band to accompany us, stilt walkers and street artists! We can't wait.

Feel free to get in touch with us if you have any questions: info@multistory.org.uk

Make Your Own Lantern

Make your own lantern at home by following these simple instructions. You can collect a paper bag and instructions every Wednesday or Thursday between 11-3pm from the Wednesbury Museum and Art Gallery, up until 26 November.

To make your lantern all you need is the paper bag, cereal boxes or card, glue and scissors, colouring pens and an artificial tea light:

Feel free to bring your paper bag lantern with you to the Christmas Light Switch on and collect a free tea-light from the We Are Wednesbury market stall in Market place on the 26 November. We have a free light available for the first 100 people, but you can always use your phone or a torch instead.

The market stall will be open between 1.30 – 3.15pm, where we’ll also be hosting lantern making workshops you can take part in on the day.
