Last week at Blast! Festival we focused on #Smethwick – highlights included collaborating with @mothershipprojects to organise an event that celebrated the fantastic designs made by women from MARKit. Keep an eye out for more of their wonderful projects to come! .

@jaskirtboora, @brian.homer and @niallmcdiarmid talked about their approach to photographic portraiture with @euripides_altintzoglou
at Wednesbury Museum & Art Gallery, while Soundkitchen led a sound walk across Smethwick, and Janine Wiedel spoke about her work with Craig Ashley at a screening of ‘Camera in the Streets’. @jaskirtboora launched her project ‘Mitti Di Kushboo – The Smell of the Land’ at @lightwoods_house_and_park on a wonderfully warm and sunny evening.
.

At the weekend, Billy Dosanjh launched his project “The Exiles”, alongside the publication & related exhibition “Black Country Sikhs” at Smethwick Heritage Centre. A huge thanks to everyone involved, including @grahampeet, curator and editor of Black Country Sikhs, Narinder Singh Rai and Chris Sutton at Smethwick Heritage Centre, MP Preet Kaur Gill and Humraaj Shergill from The Smethwick Gurdwara. .
