Only a week to go until Volker Gerling’s live Daumenkino (thumb cinema) performance ‘Portraits in Motion’. Here’s a small snapshot from “Woman with closed eyes, Berlin, 2003″ one of the many flip books Volker created while walking over 3 thousand km throughout Germany
.
.”In a pub I meet Sara. She tells me how much she loves to listen to music. I ask her if I can take her picture. Some time later we meet. Sara listens to music. I ask you to close your eyes. Then I start to photograph them. For a few moments I feel that Sara lets me share her thoughts.”
.
Next Friday Volker will perform his new series, made in #Sandwell, and share the strange and lovely stories behind each encounter. Book your free ticket following the link in bio
