We’re delighted that @dawinderbansal1 is our third artist commission for 2018 /2019. Dawinder will produce an art installation celebrating the lives of first generation South Asian migrant women living in Sandwell. Through a collection of oral history interviews, photographs and moving image Dawinder will explore the relationships between these women and their cars. The work will also highlight the positive impact of future generations of Asian women who now benefit from the sacrifices of the first generation living within patriarchal and traditional Indian family structure. The project will launch as part of Multistory’s Blast! Festival in June 2019. . .
